2014 Albert Mann Alsace Grand Cru Steingrubler Gewurztraminer
MANN'S GEWURTZTRAMINER
This was perhaps the star of the tasting after trying Albert Mann's Riesling and Pinot Gris. I'm not sure if Gewurtztraminer was his forte but judging from what I've tasted, I do suspect so. The bouquet woke me up from my drowsy afternoon; strong elegant nose coupled with ripe tropical fruits. Palate I sum it up with 4 characters: Rich, intense, bold and muscular. Have to wait a couple of years for this Grand Cru to mellow down, for now, way too young!
