2015 DiamAndes de Uco Malbec Mendoza Argentina
Malbec grape variety is normally found as a new world wine, particularly from Argentina, although it originated from Bordeaux. I’d confess, DiamAndes produces stunning wine at stunning price. As a reference, DiamAndes Cabernet Sauvignon won the Tower Club Gold Award after being blind tasted by a panel of judges. Thus, we are confident that we have chosen a label that is good value for money with its good quality. The Malbec varietal performed very well in my humble opinion. The nose was very jammy, with primarily black currant bouquet. Content was jammy, with loads of fresh plums and blackberries. Surprisingly silky with unobvious tannins, very pleasant and elegant finish. Thanks to the winemaker’s knowhow of French wine making technique as the winemaker migrated from Bordeaux to Argentina, bringing along his skill sets from Bordeaux.
