2015 Paul Pillot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanee
After the killer Paul Pillot La Romanee 2011, I vowed to buy up all their La Romanee that surfaced! It was possibly one of the best Chassagne Montrachet I’ve encountered, and today I hit on another bottle of killer again! I did not expect 2015 to perform at all, but always look at who’s the winemaker before looking at the vintage, as good winemakers can do magic with their wines regardless of how the vintage performed. Great acidity bouquet to boot, the body was in total harmony, ultra lovely balance of fruits and acidity, I can drink this whole day! Was Wine of the Day for me with my mini Chassagne Montrachet tasting this afternoon (3 other bottles were: PYCM Grand Montagne 2011, Jean Marc Pillot Les Cairellets 2015, Paul Pillot La Romanee 2015).
