2015 Verget Du Sud Vaucluse Viognier
SURPRISING
Today I learned that when it says Vin de France, it means that its a table wine and the grapes could come from anywhere in France. I had no expectations as I was sure it would have tasted simple and unimpressive but to my surprise, it was my wine of the night amongst 4 other whites!
It had notes of sweet peach, grass and slightly smoky, with a citrus palate, and just enough acidity. There was a nice balance to the wine and it was quite pleasant to drink. Good daily drinking wine!
