Sous le Puits is a Premier Cru vineyard in Puligny Montrachet, a prime white wine producing commune of the Cote de Beaune. At nearly 1300ft (400m) above sea level, the steep, stony site is the highest of Puligny's Premier Crus. A walled vineyard, it is located just west of the small hamlet of Blagny.
I was stunned at my first sip, as it was closer to the sun I would expect ripeness and big fruits. Instead I got really soft and mellow palate, I was really awed by the unique flavor. Superb!
