BORDEAUX 2016 HAUT MEDOC
This was the only Haut Medoc that I tasted in Bordeaux 2016 tasting. Not entirely impressed but not too disappointed either. This label went through 25 generations of winemaking, composed of 45% Merlot, 45% Cab Sav and 10% Petit Verdoh.
Certainly aged in new oak barrel as the nose was very strong on wood palate was quite typical of a Haut Medoc wine; smooth, very fruity, extremely tannic, thick, slightly chewy, relatively deep fruits. Nothing to shout at.
