2016 Moncaro Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi Classico Le Vele
VERDE
The most widely planted grape in the Marches region of Italy is Verdicchio. Its name is derived from Verde, which refers to the yellow green skin of the grape. This wine was made from 100% Verdicchio, and was very aromatic on the nose.
It had a combination of citrus and stone fruit, mainly peach and grapefruit on the nose. The palate was dry but refreshing with citrus fruits dominating, and it boasted of a very high acidity. Decent drink to have on a hot summer day.
