2017 Domaine Kientzler Pinot Gris Osterberg Grand Cru
The Kientzler family has been growing vines for more than five generations in Alsace, they obviously has a lot of recognition from many wine critics. Tom Stevenson claimed that they’re one of the most talented Winemakers in Alsace … The Osterberg Grand Cru plot is about 1.15 ha, it’s one of the fifty-one grand crus of the Alsace vineyard. I read a few wine critics write up for this wine, they have very western approach to describe this wine, whereas I stay in Singapore, and have much more exposure to tropical fruits, I’d prefer to use our local taste to describe this wine; it’s almost a mangosteen juice! Very fresh and gentle, in fact, drinking right next to the village Pinot Gris, this wine is much more penetrating and lingers longer on the palate. This wine is a good pairing to spicy food, as it’ll cleanse your palate well.
