There is a good old saying, to enjoy Italian food, one must drink Italian wines to bring up the taste of Italian food. This claim totally applies to this Lavarossa Primitivo. Primitivo is a native Apulian (a region in Puglia, Italy) black grape variety of medium vigor, with abundant but not very constant production. A whiff and a sip, no matter what, it’s a big and fruity wine by any standard; the content surprisingly gets very tannic after drinking a few mouthful of this big wine, however, if you are having some pizza along with this wine, it’ll be blended in very well, as the tannins actually companied the cheeses in the pizza itself like nuts and bolts, along with the fruitiness of the wine, it’s really a perfect match for Italian foods that do not stress on finesse.
