2018 Verget Pouilly Fuisse Sur La Roche

I have tried 3 different labels of 2018 white burgundies from Verget, I must say all of them was very different, and differ from the norm of what I would be expecting. To understand the weather a little more, 2018 was the warmest year on record in the region, however, the warmth was not heat spikes like 2003, but rather constant warm weather. As a result, a lot of different style presentation for various wines. Bouquet was an obvious summer blossom with a hint of fruit acidity. Body was simply fruit driven, big and bold fruits, with relatively low acidity, nothing like the Sur La Roche 2017. It’s more like a Bordeaux wine than a white burgundy! However, the fruit has it’s own beauties, as it’s not normal to get such boldly fruit driven wines from burgundies.
