2021 Arnaud Baillot Bourgogne Aligote
Aligote grapes are one of the two major grape varietals in Burgundy, accounting for about 6% of all vines in Bourgogne, along with remaining production as Chardonnay. Upon a whiff and a sip, I could not differentiate this as any different to Chardonnay wines from Burgundy, as the prominent buttery notes are present in both grape varietals, except that tonight’s wine has slightly higher acidity, I’m not sure if that’s a giveaway hint, as there are many Burgundy wines made of Chardonnay has very good acidity as well. Bouquet of slight floral fragrance, lemon and apple zest. Content is energetic with clarity, with very slight saltiness of oysters along with orange zest
