Fourchaume, being one of the most famous premier cru in Chablis, definitely has a huge number of followers. If Jean Dauvissat’s Montmains is king, Fourchaume will be the undisputed queen in terms of characteristics. Aroma of soft and elegance strike within the first whiff, along with very mellow and easy-going bouquet. Palate is obviously a big leap forward compared to all the village classification, and rightfully belonged to the premier cru category. A sip and the viscosity are undisputedly much better than a village wine, with great acidity balance, as well as softness and elegance coupled with power.
