Jean Dauvissat Heritage Chablis 2018 versus Verget Cuvee de la Butte Chablis 2018
This is a tug of war. For a start, the Heritage was leading with it’s more penetrating fruits and addictive acidity. However, Cuvee de la Butte didn’t just throw in the white flag easily, she came back with vengeance of even more palate catching searing acidity, almost coming from nowhere, it popped up when the wines are chilled in the ice bucket. I’d say the Heritage has a slight upper hand on the fruits play, but the Cuvee de la Butte searing acidity cut through my palate had the definitive upper hand. Thus, I must confess this show down is a tie with no loser.
