NV Aegerter Cremant de Bourgogne Brut
This sparkling wine is produced in burgundy with grapes sourced around burgundy. The wine is produced with a blend of 1/3 Chardonnay and 2/3 Pinot Noir. The vinification of the wine uses very traditional method, and aged in the bottle for 9 months before leaving the cellar. I had a whiff from two different handmade stemware, both gave me very different bouquet. The lesser performance stemware gave me a fruity and easy going aroma, whereas the better quality stemware gave me a touch of smoky yeasty aorma. I find the sparkling nothing really special, pretty straightforward bubble with not much complexity, although it’s pretty charming when I paired it with steam bamboo clams. For sure the wine quality is better than an Italian Procecco, but nowhere near a champagne production.
