NV Krug Grande Cuvee 167th Edition NV

This champagne was produced in 2019, with a blend of 191 wines from 13 vintages dating from 1995 to 2011. As you may know, Krug produces the best NV champagne, no don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to splurge on their Clos des Mesnil or vintage bottles, the NV is equally enjoyable. This 167th edition was absolutely way too young to drink now, and really should age it for another decade at the minimum. Palette was really sophisticated and with multiple dimensions; started off with quite a metallic taste, but then slowly the lemony tastes surfaced and the kick off of all the multi layer complexity that’s too much to describe in details. I really hoped to have tasted this in 2030 as this was obviously not at it’s prime time to drink. I’m sure the score will be upgraded much higher in time to come.
