Normally the producer of a grower champagne also owns the land where the champagne is produced, thus the champagne is very terroir sensitive, as well as the vintage. Thus it's difficult to make a consistent year in, year out champagne.
Bouquet of slightly aged, tobacco flavors and was relatively fruity. Palate was funky, creamy, somehow this bottle tasted like punctured tyre, there's insufficient bubbles and gas, although I can taste a decent amount of fruits. Was it a bad bottle?
