Wine With Bok - 9.5/10 Stars
Sourced from one of the most revered plots on Hermitage Hill, this 100 percent Syrah evolves dramatically with air. Freshly poured, it shows lively blueberries and blackberries, but after two hours of decanting, it deepens into ripe dark fruits layered with black pepper and earthy Northern Rhône character. The acidity is elevated, giving the wine structure and tension, while the fruit remains rich and layered. Subtle oak integration hints at new French barrels. This is not a wine for immediate gratification, but a serious, long-term investment that will reward cellaring over one to two decades. (01/2026)
Jeb Dunnuck - 99 Points
Lastly, and just about pure perfection in red wine, the 2020 Ermitage Le Méal will stand up with the crème de la creme of this vintage. This terroir always yields a riper, sexy style of wine, but this brings serious power and concentration, offering both black raspberry and darker currants fruits, some truffly earth, aged beef, and chocolate nuances, full body, building tannins, and a monster of a mid-palate. This stunning beauty is going to take a decade to shed some baby fat but will evolve for 15-30 years
