2020 Ferraton Pere & Fils Ermitage Les Dionnieres Rouge - 750ml
Wine With Bok - 9.5/10 Stars
This is a stunning expression of Hermitage from one of the finest lieux-dits in the appellation. The bouquet opens with refined aromas of blueberries, blackcurrants, and blackberries, delivered with remarkable purity and restraint. On the palate, the wine is beautifully balanced, silky, and vibrant, showing incredible finesse rather than brute power. The tannins are well defined yet polished, giving the wine a graceful and feminine character that is rare in Hermitage. It is immensely enjoyable even at this stage, yet clearly built to age effortlessly for two decades or more. (01/2026)

Another head-turning wine is the 2020 Ermitage Les Dionnières, an inky hued beauty that boasts a monster bouquet of black (and some blue) fruits, scorched earth, graphite, and a Graves-like cold fireplace character that emerges with time in the glass. Deep, full-bodied, and concentrated, it's a seriously good Hermitage that will benefit from 4-6 years in the cellar. I wouldn't bet against it evolving gracefully for 20+ years. (12/2022)
