Wine With Bok - 9.25/10 Stars
Made from 100 percent Syrah, this wine reflects the cooler, high-acid nature of the 2021 vintage. The bouquet shows fresh berries layered with earthy, land-driven aromas typical of Northern Rhône terroir. Initially tight, it opens beautifully with two hours of decanting. The palate delivers classic Hermitage character with earthy depth and a grounded, serious profile. Aged for 16 months in oak with a high proportion of new barrels, this biodynamically produced wine is built for further cellaring and long-term enjoyment. (01/2026)
Vinous - 91 Points
The 2021 Hermitage Les Miaux is a real treat from this challenging vintage. Checking in at 13% alcohol and vinified from certified biodynamic grapes, the 2021 showcases road tar, grilled meat and cloves alongside black cherry compote with a splash of espresso. Concentrated and juicy, its gentle structure and refreshing acidity enable extended bottle-aging. That being said, the 2021 is already delicious today.
Jeb Dunnuck - 91 Points
Leading off the Hermitage releases from this terrific producer, the 2021 Hermitage Les Miaux comes from the Méal and Dionnières lieux-dits and was raised in 30% new demi-muids and Burgundy barrels. Cassis, currants, spice, leather, and a touch of loamy earth all show in the aromatics, and it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, a supple, elegant mouthfeel, and fine tannins. It shines for its balance, purity, and elegance and will drink well over the coming decade or so.
