Rene Rostaing

Rostaing’s journey began modestly, but he quickly became a luminary in the wine world. Over the years, he amassed some of the finest vineyard holdings in Côte-Rôtie, including parcels in the La Landonne and Côte Blonde crus, two of the appellation’s most celebrated sites. These vineyards are treasured for their steep slopes, varied soils, and ideal exposure, which impart complexity and elegance to the wines. In 1991, Rostaing inherited vineyards from his father-in-law, the legendary Albert Dervieux, and his uncle, Marius Gentaz, who were themselves highly respected winemakers. This inheritance included some of the region's oldest and most revered vines, giving Rostaing a treasure trove of raw material to craft his masterpieces.
