Nose of fresh fizzy, when warmed up it turned intense fruits & wet tobacco leaves. Extremely fruity on the palate, intense, rich and creamy. Initially I thought it didn’t have much holding power but I was proven wrong when I continue to observe the evolution in the glass. Kudos to winemaker’s effort!

KING OF GROWER CHAMPAGNE After tasting all 16 grower champagnes with a school of sommeliers, everyone voted this champagne as their favorite. I opened another bottle over the weekend to slowly appreciate it, and realized it deserved its status. Started off a mixed character on the nose; aged tobacco leaves but also young with sour green apple. Palate was similar; initially the green apple dominated. I discovered that the champagne slowly evolved into ripe apple and honey, very bold and rich. 
 


Robert Parker rated 1911 Andre Clouet a high 96 Points
while he gave Krug NV Grande Cuvee 171 only 94 Points!

He exclaimed 1911 Andre Clouet as a really "powerful and rich yet very fine and balanced Champagne with great freshness and complex length!" He raved great finesse with intensity and elegance on both the nose and palate!

For Andre Clouet Dream Vintages, I have matched many vintages like soccer match, so far both 2008 and 2014 are my favorite vintages, one has to win the trophy. The 2008 was a very different style altogether. The bouquet revealed very metallic, stainless steel character, which was very symbolic of the 2008 vintage. This is a Blanc de Blanc champagne (made of 100% chardonnay), and the grapes were from the Grand Cru plot in Bouzy. 2004 was a fantastic champagne vintage. For a 15 year old champagne, it wasn’t showing any age at all, this must have been the magic of the grapes coming from Grand Cru plots. Bouquet of a hint of summer flower and minerality, not overpowering, implying this bubble can age for many more decades. Content was with slight lemon peel, although fruits are dominating, and the mousse was soft and gentle, rolling off the tongue easily. This is a good quality champagne, and I’d love to age it for another 20 years to enjoy the full pleasure of this bubble!
